First Harwood Win for Young/Dean!

This year's annual two-day Harwood Plumbing and Heating 2 Man Scramble at Highview Golf Course finished unlike the 2 Lady tournament from a couple weeks ago. In the 2 Lady Tournament the winner's were familiar ones but this year's 2 Man was much different as the team of Rylan Young and Derek Dean took home the hardware for the first time shooting a two-day total of 122. The dynamic duo finished Saturday's round with a respectable minus 7, 63 and then bolted to the top of the Leaderboard on Sunday with an astonishing 11 under par, 59. Making them the only team to shoot in the 50s throughout the whole tournament. "It was quite fun playing with them today. The round was quite entertaining to watch, they definitely had the Midas touch" said Dean Harrington (after Sunday's play). Harrington played with Young and Dean alongside his partner Nick Nauta in the afternoon draw. Harrington and Nauta placed Second overall after posting a Saturday score of 8 under, 62 but finalized the tournament with a disappointing 64 (minus 6). Finishing off the Top 3 was the team of Brooks Dzilums and Darcy Black whom ended Saturday's play with the low of 61 (9 under) but fell after Sunday's round of only a minus 1, 69. The Annual Harwood Tournament again shows loyalty with a total of 80 teams (160 golfers) participating in the 2 Man event.

Since 2014 the Harwood tournament has given out a special honour for the teams in the morning draw and afternoon draw who was seen having the most fun throughout the tournament. The award was named after Bruce Milne, a man who was known for having a great time on and off the golf course. This year's recipients of the award were the teams of Herb Williams & Phil Andrews (morning draw) and Matt Tucker & Chris Marson (afternoon draw).
