J.Mantle & M.Schneider Win Their First Highview Two Man Trophy!

Over the weekend at Highview Golf Course we held our Twenty Eighth Annual Two Man Scramble Tournament Sponsored by Harwood Plumbing & Heating!

Our annual two-day event had another outstanding showing as 216 competitors joined us and participated this year! After some rain on Thursday and wet conditions on Friday, the course dried up nice and was in excellent shape come the weekend. We experienced nice weather all weekend long, which the golfers greatly appreciated. Thankfully the rain avoided us during Saturday afternoon qualifying rounds and we had great weather throughout the entire event. Overall the men played with excellent greens, superb course conditions, and some tough but exciting pin placements, which produced some good scores from the players over the weekend!

We had Practice Round tee times all-day Friday, Qualifying Rounds on Saturday from 7:30-9:40 & 1:00-3:00, and Final Round Shotguns at 8:30am & 1:45pm on Sunday.

Once again, it was quite the exciting Harwood weekend for everyone at Highview this year!

For the first time since 2017/2018, we have back-to-back first time winners for our Highview Two Man Scramble Tournament.

Our 2025 Two Man Scramble Champions are; James Mantle & Matt Schneider!

The pair carded two amazing scores over the weekend to capture their first Highview Two Man Scramble win.

First they shot a near bogey-less Saturday round of Minus-10, 60, which set them up in a great position going into the Sunday Final Rounds. Sitting a couple strokes back going into Sunday and chasing some teams that shot sub-60 rounds. James & Matt had to continue their terrific play in order to make a push for the top.

With enjoyable warm weather and more difficult tees and hole placements on Sunday, it was unclear who would emerge victorious after the Final Shotgun Round.

Shooting from the Blue Tees - Mantle & Schneider posted a fantastic Minus-7, 63 to finish atop the leaderboard. Going 60/63 over the weekend, Mantle & Schneider didn't have the low single day score for either Saturday or Sunday. Rather, the duo played consistently great both days and finished with a tremendous two-day score of 123 - securing their victory by 3 strokes!

Since 2014, Highview and the Harwood Family have given out a special honour each year to the team(s) in our tournament who were noticeably having the most fun and displaying great sportsmanship throughout the event.

The award is named after Bruce Milne - a friend of Highview Golf Course and a man who was known for having a great time on and off the course; especially at our Highview Two Man Scramble Tournaments over the years!
