Over the weekend we held the Twenty Fourth Annual Harwood Plumbing & Heating 2 Man Scramble at Highview Golf Course! This year's annual two-day event attracted a total of 208 golfers; split into two separate blocks to allow for the following of current protocols in place. With the opening of Stage 3 on the Friday Practice Round Day, the clubhouse/course were quickly changed to allow the men to use certain facilities that were unavailable due to previous restrictions. The teams played in great conditions and warm weather all tournament long, so naturally we saw some solid scores throughout! With tee times all-day Friday, Saturday from 7:30-9:40 & 1-3, and Sunday Shotguns at 8:30 & 1:45, it was an active weekend for all involved. The title of the 2021 2 Man Scramble was captured by a new pairing this year. Previous Winner Rylan Young (2016) teamed up with his usual Men's Night teammate; Andrew Dean. Dean and Young took home the trophy by four strokes over the nearest competition. The duo posted a Minus-11, 59 on Saturday to take a four stroke lead on the field. Going into the Final Round, with hot weather and some tough pin placements it proved to be a harder day on the scorecards for most. From there, they scored a solid Minus-6, 64 to finish the weekend playing the Sunday Blue Tees. Young and Dean's total tournament score was a Minus-17, 123 (59/64). They also had the low one-day score of the event with their Saturday, 59. Other notable team scores; 2nd Place - Matt Schneider & Calvin Caldwell (64/63 = 127), 3rd Place - James Mantle & Will Main (64/64 = 128), and past winners Harrington and Nauta finishing Top-5 (66/67 = 133). The low Sunday score came from the pairing of Matt Schneider & Calvin Caldwell (63).

Since 2014, Highview Golf Course and the Harwood Family have partnered in handing out a special honour to the team(s) in our annual tournament who were noticeably having the most fun and showing great sportsmanship throughout the two-day event. The award was named after Bruce Milne, a man who was known for having a great time on and off the golf course, especially at the Harwood 2 Man Tournaments at Highview. The 2021 recipients of the Bruce Milne Memorial Award are; A.M. Shotgun ~ Soupy Campbell & Stan Yozkowski and P.M. Shotgun ~ Ryan Jardine & Rob Bell. Congratulations Gentlemen!
